Singapore, 30 September 2015 - Beach House Pictures Taiwan (BHP Taiwan) has bagged a major win for its series Taiwan Made at the recent annual Golden Bell Television Awards, held in Taipei.
The three-part series, commissioned by Discovery Channel Taiwan, was awarded Best Science Program at a star-studded event held on Saturday and attended by many of Taiwan’s most known personalities.
The win marks the first time ever Discovery Channel has won a Golden Bell. Taiwan Made was up against two other finalists: Taiwan 5 (National Geographic Channel) and Fabre Insect (Hakka TV).
Maxine Lu, Managing Director of BHP Taiwan joined Gina Hung, president of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, North Asia, on stage to accept the award. Also in attendance was Roger Cheng, Executive Producer and producer Jeff Wang.

The Golden Bell Awards, now in its 50th year is Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmy Awards. This year saw over 100 finalists spread across more than 50 categories, which included dramas, commercials and documentaries, among others. The awards event was held at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
