BHP celebrates seventh birthday with a new Head of Production

Singapore, 31 May 2012 – Singapore-based Beach House Pictures is celebrating its seventh birthday by hiring new Head of Production & Business Development Paul Stevens.

“We are ramping up business with 35 hours of programming in production this year, so Paul’s arrival is perfect timing,” says BHP co-founder Jocelyn Little.

“As Head of Production & Business Development, Paul will be deeply involved in managing, strategising and growing BHP’s productions, while lending editorial support as Executive Producer. He also brings extensive experience in corporate and commercial film production, and in Stereo 3D motion pictures. This will really enhance our team’s diverse skill sets.”

Paul arrives at BHP during a vibrant growth period. In April, the company collected two Silver World Medals and three Finalist certificates at the 2012 New York Festivals, and it currently has an additional 25 hours of television content in development. BHP is also expanding its business in Taiwan and China.

Co-founders Jocelyn Little and Donovan Chan have worked with Paul for over a decade in his previous roles, so selecting him to fill the position was a straightforward choice.

“Paul understands how BHP works and shares our vision for the company. So he’s a natural fit,” says Jocelyn. “He brings to BHP a rare understanding of how to cultivate successful business relationships in Asia, a lifelong love for good storytelling and great tenacity in delivering high-quality projects to clients.”

Paul comes to the company fresh from his role as Co-producer of Stereoscopic 3D feature BAIT, the biggest film in Singapore’s history. Over his 17 years in TV and film, Paul has founded and managed two prolific production companies, and written and produced four award-winning TV series as well as hundreds of high quality commercials, corporate films and documentaries.

“On a personal level I’m very excited to be joining Beach House Pictures. Jocelyn, Don and I have been friends for many years and I’ve had the pleasure of working with them on several major international projects over that time. They have a huge amount of experience and unrelenting passion and energy for making high quality, compelling content. I look forward to contributing to the talented team they’ve assembled at Beach House Pictures,” says Paul.
